Originally created for a story I had been brainstorming about. Now, she's part of an RP, clearly Kingdom Hearts. This was never inked in, which is why the lines are fairly messy and the background somewhat dotted with other colors.
Serafina's parents feared that their daughter was showing early signs of schizophrenia when she turned 8. Before, they had written off her talking to herself as Sera having an imaginary friend. With Sera at the age where imaginary friends should not exist, they began to worry and forced her into various sports and activities.
When Serafina was 9, her family was involved in a car crash. Her parents were killed on impact, and Sera was on the verge of death. It was then that her imaginary friend Richt, who was actually a ghost, saved her life by binding her to a lotus flower. Unfortunately, with the recent destruction of Twilight Town (in the RP), a 19-year-old Serafina must travel the worlds in search for the one flower that literally allows her to live.
For her backstory, I based it on the rose from Beauty and the Beast and Kanda from D. Gray Man. Or at least, what we thought we knew about Kanda, but I digress. The flower works in generally the same way as the rose in Beauty and the Beast, although the lotus loses petals when Serafina is put in critical condition. In other words, she's like a cat with 12 extra lives. Currently, she's lost quite a few petals--although neither Sera or Richt know how many are left since it's...well...missing.
Neither of them know what will happen after the last petal falls.
As for why her skin is so weirdly tinted, I used those hues to make her look less...alive? She IS technically dead.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
