Bio: Parents lost to the war against the Avatar, Anju was orphaned at a fairly young age. Only weeks later did she find a new family in Akira Valentine-Suohs home. The woman took Anju in out of pity, but her husband, Hikaru, welcomed the girl with open arms. Of course, Akiras pity soon turned into a genuine maternal feeling.
The two adults discovered Anjus Fire Bending abilities a year after they took her in (age 6 at that point in time). Akira immediately opposed the girls future in Fire Bending while Hikaru supported iteven with the war going on. Hikaru, not agreeing with his wifes stubborn arguments, secretly taught the girl how to Fire Bend before sending her to the Military Academy when she was old enough.
After graduating from the Academy with fairly high grades, Anju decided to travel the world and experience the things she couldnt while in the Fire Nation capital.

Character made solely for the purpose of joining an RP my friend runs. She's HEAVILY based off her adoptive mother's character, who used to be my character in the RP before this one (Avatar: Generations). I LOVED the way she acted, so I remade her into this character.
To explain all this stuff about war, in that RP, the last Avatar had been...evil. And there were retaliations against his rule, which then sparked a war that both Anju's adoptive parents were a part of (on the Rebellion's side). That's the basic gist of it.
As for why Akira hadn't allowed Anju to join the Academy initially, that had to do with Akira's own past. Long story short, she had been a part of the military, but was used as a tool and now bears a grudge against it. Ironically, her husband is still a general and Akira is the Minister of Foreign Affairs. XD
Ugh, I wish I fixed the proportions on this. IRL, the shoulders look bigger, so the head fit better. -.-
Fun fact: In the first stages of making her, Anju's name used to be "Jaekyung".

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
